About the Role
As a Senior IT Systems Administrator, you will maintain, upgrade, and manage software, hardware, and networks to ensure the technological infrastructure operates efficiently and securely.
What You'll Do
- Install and configure software and hardware.
- Manage network servers and technology tools.
- Set up accounts and workstations.
- Monitor performance and maintain systems according to requirements.
- Troubleshoot issues and outages.
- Ensure security through access controls, backups, and firewalls.
- Upgrade systems with new releases and models.
- Develop expertise to train staff on new technologies.
- Build an internal wiki with technical documentation, manuals, and IT policies.
- Lead cloud engineering initiatives and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deploy, manage, and monitor cloud-based applications and services in Microsoft Azure and Oracle Cloud.
- Design, configure, and maintain virtual machines, storage accounts, and other cloud resources.
- Drive automation of cloud operations using tools like Terraform Enterprise, GitHub, and Azure Policy.
- Implement and enforce cloud security practices to safeguard data and infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues related to cloud infrastructure and services.
- Stay updated with the latest Azure and Oracle Cloud features and industry trends to recommend improvements and optimizations.
What You'll Bring
- Experience with some level of systems administration.
- Experience with databases, networks (LAN, WAN), and patch management.
- Knowledge of system security (e.g., intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery.
- Ability to create scripts in Python, Perl, or other languages.
- Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms.
- 4–6 years of hands-on experience in cloud engineering, preferably in Azure and/or Oracle Cloud.
- Strong proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM templates, or similar).
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to lead technical initiatives.
- Cloud certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Architect) are a plus.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Preferred Qualifications
- Cloud Platform Engineering experience, including managing Azure and Oracle Cloud infrastructure.
- Experience developing and maintaining automation scripts and tools to streamline cloud operations.
- Proficiency in enhancing cloud security posture by implementing best practices and monitoring tools.
- Experience developing and maintaining comprehensive documentation for cloud processes, configurations, and procedures.
This is the pay range that Magnit reasonably expects to pay for this position: $92.96/hour - $92.96/hour.
