Job Title: Technical Program Manager, Internal Software Development 

 

Technical Program Manager for Internal Software Development works with Marcom’s Special Ops team and will drive the strategy, execution, delivery, and support of critical Channel XF Merchandising Readiness software solutions.

 

This role demands a highly hands-on individual with a deep understanding of the software development lifecycle, technical project management best practices, and a passion for building robust, scalable internal tools. As the product expert, you will bridge the gap between business needs, technical execution, and user experience of high-visibility, global tools. 

 

You will support Channel XF Merchandising Readiness, who oversees the implementation and execution of product merchandising strategies across all Channel points of sale globally. Working with cross-functional teams across Security, Governance, Operations, Marketing & Communications, and Sales, you will own the tools that drive flawless execution of product and visual merchandising in Channel.

Description:

As a Technical Program Manager on the Special Ops team, you will be the Channel Merchandising tool expert, managing development, maintenance, and support.

  • Develop comprehensive roadmaps aligned with Channel merchandising strategies, priorities, and technical feasibility
  • Own the end-to-end software development lifecycle, including bug resolution, feature development, dependency management, and maintenance
  • Work directly with engineering teams, creating clear, actionable tickets, and participating in infrastructure design and code reviews
  • Work directly with internal and external users, including onboarding, support, and change management
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, delivering executive-level communications on program status, risks, milestones, and decision points
  • Champion user experience, ensuring internal tools are functional, intuitive, and easy to use 
  • Obsess over process improvement both within tools and in development methodologies
  • Be a hands-on product expert, able to document, test, and troubleshoot every aspect of tools you own
  • Meet Apple's high standard for quality, data integrity, and security

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 7-10 years of experience as a Technical Program Manager, Product Manager, or similar role, focused on large, complex internal software development projects
  • Technical familiarity with Python (including Vectorworks scripting), C#, ASP.NET, JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX, Bootstrap, Visual Studio, Microsoft MVC framework, Agile methodologies, and Entity Framework
  • Proven expertise in developing and executing detailed roadmaps
  • Experience leading programs through matrixed organizations, influencing without direct authority
  • Extensive experience owning the SDLC and adhering to best practices, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and release management 
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills for diverse audiences 
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging capabilities with a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating roadblocks
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and enhancing system reliability, performance, security, and user experience
  • Track record of ensuring projects are well-documented, accessible, and maintainable for current and future team members

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Entrepreneurial approach with an ability to navigate ambiguity and focus on what matters most
  • Ability to thrive in cross-functional teams within a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Understanding of global merchandising strategies
  • Background in retail operations, merchandising, or visual presentation
