We are looking for a freelance Interactive Associate Creative Director to work with our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, presenting and delivering considered, elegant, and scalable systematic digital customer experiences that will live in our physical and digital environments under the limited direction of senior creative staff.
Key Qualifications
- You have at least 10 years meaningful (agency and in-house e-commerce) experience specializing in direct or indirect channel experiences, brand, and visual design for the web and iOS devices.
- You have experience in e-commerce, marketing, corporate identity, brand management, sales promotion, and new media communication as well as familiarity with development and engineering environments and workflows.
- You are knowledgeable about the requirements of the creative process, including typical time and resources needed to produce efficient, quality work on time and to specification, and you have experience using prototyping as part of design thinking.
- You have a consistent record of extraordinary conceptual and critical thinking for the web and for native applications, particularly for the marketing and commerce of major brands.
- You have strong knowledge of interactive creative development processes.
- You are able to take on more responsibility with less supervision on more sophisticated projects.
- You possess an extraordinary understanding of usability issues with regard to information design.

Description
- Accountable for successful execution of creative direction on assigned projects.
- Leads a broad range of work, including the creation of new platforms and their corresponding system design.
- Provides conceptual, strategic, and professional leadership for the team as a whole;
participates in the operational facets of leading a design group, including staffing and resourcing specific user experiences that incorporate a wide variety of content (such as product marketing, merchandising, and seasonal campaigns). - Regularly reviews creative work with the group’s senior creative staff to get feedback on direction and to confirm that work is aligned with other activities in the group.
- Leads and directs the design of an interactive project, from concept through to code, and presents persuasively and clearly to partners, effectively articulating design rationale.
- Develops innovative and on-strategy designs and experiences, which are highly resolved from a formal perspective and which meet the objectives of the assignment.
- Solves problems conceptually in collaboration with the broader interactive team, including writers, UX designers, creative technologists, and developers, as well as with external agencies.
- Communicates effectively, both verbally and in writing, with other creatives and product managers, engendering trust and respect.
- Develops the team by keeping their work load balanced, providing useful feedback on their work, and working with them to identify areas for growth.
Education
BA or BFA in Graphic Design or other related design discipline preferred
