Job Summary: Marcom is Apple’s Global Marketing Communications group. We oversee all of Apple’s advertising and marketing to ensure the flawless development and execution of world-class communications. The Business Affairs Social team drives the planning, licensing, delivery, and tracking of all rights-managed content featured across Apple’s social and Fitness marketing.
The role of a Business Affairs Manager is to ensure the third-party intellectual property featured in Apple's social media marketing is brand appropriate, properly licensed, and diligently tracked. The role demands a high degree of ownership, integrity andaccountability, and you will work closely with creatives, production teams, and legal counsel.
Key Qualifications:
• 7-10 years relevant experience in business affairs or in video production, preferably at an agency
• 7-10 years of experience negotiating talent contracts.
• Experience in all matters of talent management (Celeb/SAG-AFTRA/NonUnion)
• Experience in negotiating licensing agreements.
• Extensive industry knowledge on right of publicity, influencer marketing, and social media advertising legal issues
• Demonstrated ability to be effective and influential in a complex organization, exercising sound strategic, legal, and business judgment in challenging situations independently and proactively
• Superb issue-spotting skills when it comes to third-party rights embedded inany deliverable
• Deep understanding of the Apple Fitness+ workout programs and Fitness appson Apple Watch, Apple TV, iPad, and iPhone
• Proficient working knowledge of the following software: Keynote, Numbers, Pages, and Box; familiarity with Quip, Slack, Wrike, Opal, and AirTable
Description:
• Problem solving is essential for success; with every challenge that arises you’ll have multiple solutions and be open to partnering with producers and creatives to problem solve.
• Provide solutions to production challenges that fit creatively while still being legally sound, financially responsible, and keeping in line with the product, creative, and strategic objectives.
• Work cross-functionally with partners in Legal, Finance, Advertising, Production, and Global BA.
• Manage projects from concept to wrap and maintain line of sight into all facets of production including thinking ahead on project/clearance/legal needs, understanding talent process, etc.
• Review scripts and storyboards for initial flags; Work with legal to assess risk and find creative solves.
• Prepare talent estimates, contracts, and process talent payments.
• Negotiate and license third-party IP when necessary.
• Initiate trademark searches and work closely with legal on copyright/trademarkmatters
• Facilitate third party content clearances for Fitness+ marketing deliverables inpartnership with Business Affairs Clearances & Licensing Managers.
Education Bachelor's Degree required.
