General Description

BeOne Medicines Accounting is seeking a Project Manager to drive a portfolio of concurrent Accounting initiatives. Working closely with Accounting Leadership, this role will own project plans, risks and dependencies, stakeholder follow-up, internal and external partner coordination, and leadership reporting. The role requires strong PMO discipline with a Lean operating mindset, including practical experience with project management lifecycle, portfolio management, and process and systems deployment. This role will partner closely with IT and cross-functional accounting teams to keep work on track, aligned, and delivering real improvements. You will leverage Smartsheet to build the project plans, trackers, and dashboards that give everyone clear visibility. Additionally, looking for support to drive our strategy deployment process (also called policy deployment or Hoshin Kanri) by helping translate priorities into actionable plans and KPIs while setting up our tool. Hands-on Smartsheet experience, familiarity with finance systems and processes, and exposure to strategy deployment will help you hit the ground running. This is a hands-on role accountable for keeping work moving, bringing structure to ambiguity, and holding teams to commitments across business, technical, vendor, and regional teams.

Essential Functions of the Job

  •  Maintain a consolidated view of the Accounting project portfolio, including priorities, roadmap, milestones, risks, dependencies, and open decisions.
  • Establish and manage a regular PMO cadence, including status reporting, RAID logs, action-item tracking, decision logs, and red/amber/green (RAG) dashboards.
  • Identify risks, resource constraints, timeline conflicts, and decision points early, and help drive resolution.
  • Use project management technology, dashboards, AI, and automation tools to improve visibility, accountability, documentation, follow-up, and leadership updates.
  • Plan, organize, and drive workstreams from intake and planning through execution, rollout, stabilization, and transition to steady-state ownership.
  • Maintain clear project plans with owners, timelines, deliverables, dependencies, and next steps.
  • Facilitate working sessions, status meetings, and follow-ups with internal teams and external partners.
  • Capture decisions, open items, and action plans, and ensure follow-through to closure
  • Support Lean-based strategy deployment activities, including Hoshin Kanri, A3 problem-solving, PDCA tracking, KPI alignment, catchball, and progress reviews.
  • Help maintain X-matrices, bowling charts, visual management dashboards, and other strategy deployment tools.
  • Facilitate catchball discussions to align goals, owners, timelines, dependencies, metrics, and resource needs.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts across Accounting, including close optimization, process standardization, manual effort reduction, and improved visibility.
  • Prepare project materials, including charters, project plans, status updates, executive summaries, and other deliverables as needed.
  • Partner with Accounting, IT, and system owners to deliver close, reconciliation, journal, reporting, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate requirements, testing, UAT, cutover planning, issue resolution, rollout, hypercare, and transition to steady-state support.
  • Track consulting firms, system integrators, software vendors, and other partners against project plans, timelines, statements of work, and expected outcomes.
  • Build trusted relationships across Accounting, FP&A, IT, regional teams, and external partners.
  • Support global and regional rollouts through clear communication, training coordination, adoption tracking, and issue resolution.
  • Work across global time zones and adjust schedule when needed for key meetings or deadlines.

     

What Success Looks Like 

  • Accounting project portfolio is organized with clear priorities, owners, timelines, risks, dependencies, and leadership visibility.
  • A consistent PMO cadence is operating, including status updates, RAG dashboards, decision tracking, and action-item follow-up.
  • Key Accounting initiatives are progressing from planning through execution, rollout, stabilization, and transition to steady-state ownership.
  • Project reporting, documentation, and follow-up are streamlined through effective use of project management tools, AI, and automation.

Education/Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Business, Accounting, or Finance.
  • 5+ years of experience in project management, portfolio management, or PMO roles.
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent workstreams or a project portfolio.
  • Experience operating PMO processes, including project plans, status updates, RAID logs, dashboards, and leadership updates.
  • Practical experience with Lean, Hoshin Kanri, A3 problem-solving, PDCA, visual management, or similar structured problem-solving methods.
  • Hands-on experience with project management technology, work-management tools, dashboards, and reporting.
  • Business background with the ability to understand finance and accounting processes, systems, and reporting needs.
  • Strong communication, organization, stakeholder-management, and follow-through skills.
  • Hands-on experience with Smartsheet or similar project management tools.
  • Ability to operate independently in ambiguous, fast-moving environment
  • Familiarity with finance systems and processes.
  • Strong understanding of project management lifecycle and methodologies.

Preferred/Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with SAP, BlackLine, or similar ERP, EPM, close management, and reporting applications.
  • Experience supporting close optimization, reconciliation, journal, reporting, or accounting system initiatives.
  • Familiarity with SmartSheets for project planning and Amplon.io for strategy deployment or similar tools .
  • PMP, Lean/Six Sigma, Smartsheet, or related certification.
  • Experience supporting global, multi-region projects in a SOX or regulated environment.
  • Takes ownership and drives outcomes.

This is the pay range that Magnit reasonably expects to pay for this position: $66.96/hour - $89.29/hour
