Description:

Role Responsibilities:

  • Tissue fixation, processing, and embedding of biological specimens
  • Sectioning tissues using microtomy techniques to prepare high-quality slides
  • Performing routine, special staining, and IHC/IF procedures
  • Whole slide scanning
  • Maintenance of laboratory equipment
  • Ensuring quality control and accurate documentation of laboratory procedures
  • Collaborating with pathologists and research scientists to support ongoing projects

Histotechnician Qualifications & Skills

  • Associate degree in histotechnology or a related field
  • ASCP certification as a Histotechnician (HT) or Histotechnologist (HTL), or eligibility to obtain certification
  • Proficiency in microtomy, tissue processing, embedding, and staining techniques
  • Strong understanding of laboratory safety protocols and regulatory compliance
  • Exceptional attention to detail, manual dexterity, and organizational skills
  • Excellent time-management, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume laboratory environment

Education Required:

  • Bachelors Degree
