Title: Social Media Manager, Trading

We’re looking for a social media manager to support our trading team. This role will primarily be focused on growing Coinbase’s advanced trading presence on Twitter/X. The ideal candidate is chronically online, has lots of trading experience, and is an exceptional content creator. 

What you’ll be doing:

• Running @CoinbaseMarkets and creating high quality, engaging content related to our trading products across perps, DEX, futures, and stocks.
• Supporting GTM for new product lines and bringing launches to life on social.
• Proactively marketing and engaging with the community across perps, DEX, and other trading products.
• Creating content to build awareness of our trading products across all relevant channels, including @Coinbase main and exec accounts.
• Tracking market moves, funding rates, and CT trends, and turning them into timely posts.
• Making memes and posting bangers.
• Working cross-functionally with PMM, product, and trading teams on campaigns and live moments.
• Monitoring Twitter/X trends, conversations, and competitor activity to identify opportunities for timely and relevant content.
• Standing up working processes and content systems between internal teams.
• Monitoring, advising on and responding to FUD through short and long term strategies.
• Analyzing performance metrics to continuously optimize content strategy and improve engagement.
• Be flexible with working hours as crypto never sleeps and sometimes neither do we.

What we look for in you:

• Deep understanding of social and new media landscapes, especially CT.
• Power user of perps, DEX, and other trading products.
• Expert on internet trends and what makes things go viral.
• Strong grasp of market structure, derivatives, and trader culture.
• Passion for crypto and economic freedom.
• Strong background in building and engaging with a social media following, especially on X.
• Meme proficiency.
• Fast learner.
• Proven experience as a talented copywriter and memer.
• Direct communication style; despises corporate speak.
• Thick skin, open to feedback and does not get emotionally affected.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to haves:

• Experience creating content for other social media platforms.
• Existing relationships with traders, KOLs, and CT personalities.
• Experience with short-form video content.
• Background working with or alongside trading desks, exchanges, or market makers.

4+ years running social media at a high standard, and deep background in trading
