Description:

This is a contract role through Magnit for Consumers Energy in Jackson, Michigan. This role is a hybrid role to Jackson, Michigan and requires reporting 3 days a week onsite.

We are seeking a strategic and adaptable Project Manager to support the execution of our Low-Income (LMI) Strategy across a diverse portfolio of initiatives. This role is ideal for someone who excels at working across functions, aligning stakeholders, and translating high-level goals into actionable plans. Projects may span digital redesigns, product development and testing, operational improvements, and governance support—requiring a flexible, goal-oriented mindset and strong collaboration skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end project management for a wide range of LMI-related initiatives, including digital redesigns, product design and testing, operational improvements, and cross-functional governance activities.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand project goals, define success metrics, and co-develop realistic timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Identify key dependencies and align related projects and workstreams to ensure cohesive execution.
  • Coordinate and streamline communications, align schedules, and manage project resources across departments.
  • Schedule and facilitate meetings, lead discussions on project milestones, requirements, and resource needs.
  • Build strong working relationships across a diverse group of cross-functional stakeholders, including IT, UX/UI, product, regulatory, customer operations, and external partners.
  • Translate business and design needs into actionable development tasks, including writing user stories, use cases, and test cases.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, remove blockers, and escalate issues when needed. 
  • Support governance activities, reporting, and documentation for LMI strategy initiatives

Requirements:

  • Proven ability to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects that span digital, operational, and strategic domains.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and align stakeholders across varying roles and priorities.
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams and facilitating collaboration across departments.
  • Ability to translate high-level goals into structured project plans, timelines, and milestones.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira, Confluence, or Smartsheet.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills.
  • Bachelor's Degree or 5 or more years of experience in lieu of degree

Hourly Pay Rate Range (dependent on location, experience, expectation)

The pay range that Magnit reasonably expects to pay for this position is: $ 65-$74/hr
