Role Profile – Mechanical (LOTO & P&ID) – 6 months

Purpose of the role

The appointed person will report to the Maintenance Compliance team, and work very closely with the Site Engineering Maintenance team and Project Engineering lead.
The aim is to ensure safe isolation of plant, associated isolation schedules are compiled and then physically executed in a timely manner within an operational window, folowing current HSE guidence HSG253 and Diageo Global Technical standards.
This would ensure compliance in the following areas (list is not exhaustive): -
· Lock Out Tag Out procedures (LOTO)
· Risk Assessments and Work Instructions (EQMS)
· Process safety and Isolation protocol.
· Safe isolation of plant and equipment

Entry level requirements – skills and experience
Qualifications
· Time served Compliance Egineer preferably with HNC or equivalent.
· IOSH Managing Safely / NEBOSH

Essential Experience: 
· Computer literate (e.g. Microsoft office Word, Excel, Office, planner)
· At least 2 years’ experience working with P&Id's in a manufacturing environment.
· Ability to read and fully understand mechanical drawings and P&ID’s, and identify associated equipment and devices in the field.
· Must be able to confirm P&ID accuracy in the field.
· Has comprehensive knowledge and experience in proving positive isolations and hands-on experience with mechanical isolations.

Desirable Experience:
· HSG 253 familiarity
· Mechanical ACOP legislation and standards
· Machinery and Functional safety systems
· ME, packaging, lean methodologies, process control, RCM
· Electrical Instrumentation awareness and what function they deliver in the field..

Key Accountabilities
· To provide safe isolation solutions to comply with legislation and ensure that site can demonstrate effective and safe LOTO procedures. 
· Excellent understanding of engineering LOTO strategies for safety system maintenance.
· Ensure P&ID’s are checked against physical routes, updated and red-lined where necessary, and liaise with CAD team to update.
· Ensure all mechanical site P&ID’s and associated documents are up to date and readily accessible/available.
· Develop isolation schedules and associated documentation.
· Support LOTO install during commissioning of I/O testing, coordinating with both electrical, mechanical & C&I teams. (some out of hours work anticipated during IO commissioning only in April/May 2024)
· Prepare weekly progress reports and updates to key stakeholders and Project leads.
· At all times adhere to Diageo health and safety, environmental and food safety standards. 
· At all times work to all applicable procedures.
· Maintain a safe and organised workplace environment through adherence to the Safety and 5S MMS practices.

Additional Info 
Perform all job functions safely. Requirement to enter restricted spaces e,g mechanical clusters of valve arrangement. 
Must be able to climb scaffold and work at elevation. 
External pipework exposure, with expoosure to external weather conditions. 
Regularly exposed to a noisy environment. 
Must wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including hearing protection, safety glasses, safety toed shoes, gloves, bump cap or hard hat.
