Description:

This is a contract opportunity. You will be employed by Magnit to work on assignment with GuideWell and subsidiary companies including Florida Blue. 

 

Senior AI Developer responsible for designing and developing intelligent, AI-powered applications to enhance Florida Blue's Customer Experience platform. This role involves building advanced Generative AI, LLM-based, and agentic solutions using Python, integrating modern AI frameworks, and ensuring responsible and scalable deployment of AI capabilities. Responsibilities include technical architecture, documentation, unit testing, peer code reviews, and maintaining IT Controls to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of applications and data. 

  

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5+ years of professional software development experience with Python  
  • Strong understanding of RESTful API design; demonstrated experience developing REST APIs using Python  
  • In-depth understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), unit testing, peer code reviews, and change management procedures  
  • Experience with PostgreSQL, Oracle, DB2 or equivalent database SQL’s  
  • Experience with container technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes  
  • Experience with cloud-based infrastructure and platform services including AWS or Azure 
  • Familiarity with DevOps/CI/CD principles including code repository and release management 
  • Strong experience building Advanced Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) applications with required guardrails 
  • Experience integrating LLMs such as Llama, Mistral, GPT models, or multi-modal models with applications or user interfaces 
  • Experience fine-tuning LLMs and creating/leveraging vector databases for RAG 
  • Experience with LLM frameworks 
  • Experience evaluating generative AI models and applying responsible AI principles  
  • Knowledge of LLMOps including frameworks and tools for deploying LLMs 
  • Knowledge of MLOps including CI/CD, model training/testing, deployment, and monitoring  
  • Experience with NLP libraries and ML tools  
  • Experience with agentic AI frameworks to build autonomous, multi-step AI workflows  
  • Experience designing and integrating MCP servers and clients to connect LLMs with external tools, APIs, and data sources  
  • Experience building multi-agent systems including agent orchestration, task delegation, memory management, and tool use  
  • Experience with function calling / tool use patterns in LLMs   
  • Experience leading projects in collaborative, interdisciplinary teams consisting of data scientists, ML engineers, and domain experts 
  • Ability to distill complex technical concepts into easily understandable summaries for non-technical business stakeholders  
  • Demonstrated organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills with effective independent decision-making 

  

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Java background in addition to Python 
  • Experience with MCP server development — exposing internal tools and APIs as MCP-compatible resources and prompts  
  • Experience with AI observability and tracing tools for monitoring agentic pipelines 
  • Experience with structured output generation from LLMs  
  •  Prompt engineering expertise  
  • Experience with AI gateway / proxy layers for multi-model routing and cost management  
  • Knowledge of responsible agentic AI  
  • Domain experience in healthcare 
  • Experience using Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery methodology 

 

Required Education

  • Bachelor/master's degree or equivalent work experience Required
