This is a contract opportunity. You will be employed by Magnit to work on assignment with GuideWell and subsidiary companies including Florida Blue.
PROJECT: Working with a team of 6-10 on federal cost transparency project. Position approved for 6 months but could go beyond that based on budget/project work.
JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Java Developer to join our team, with expertise in Spring Boot, Jenkins, and containerization technologies (OpenShift or Kubernetes). As a Senior Java Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and deploying high-quality software applications using Java technologies, with a focus on cloud-native development and DevOps practices.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable and secure Java-based applications using Spring Boot
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, ensuring efficient and automated testing, building, and deployment of applications
• Work with containerization technologies (OpenShift or Kubernetes) to deploy and manage applications in a cloud-native environment
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, bugs, and defects in complex systems
• Develop and maintain technical documentation for applications and systems
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in Java development, DevOps, and cloud-native development
• Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance and support
Requirements:
• 5+ years related work experience, Professional experience with technical design and coding in the IT industry
• 5+ years of experience in Java development, with expertise in Spring Boot (2.x and above)
• Strong knowledge of Java ecosystem, including Java SE, Java EE, and related technologies
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Docker, GitLab CI/CD, etc.)
• Containerization experience with OpenShift or Kubernetes, including deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications
• Strong understanding of cloud-native development principles, including microservices architecture, service mesh, and serverless computing
• Experience with Agile development methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban)
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and ability to work independently
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
Required Education:
•Related Bachelor’s degree or related work experience
