Resource Optimization, Decision Science Insights & Analytics
Job Summary:
The Insights and Decision Science (IDS) team is dedicated to enabling improved decision making at Novartis by leveraging data and advanced analytics capabilities to generate actionable insights that drive business growth. We collaborate closely with the US business, bringing insights and challenging ideas to empower smarter, data-driven decision-making.
The Resource Optimization team leverages advanced analytics and AI/ML models to measure value of past investments and predict the future, helping inform product, therapeutic area, and portfolio strategy.
We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical Graduate (MBA/PhD/MS) Summer Intern to join our Decision Science, Resource Optimization team, supporting programs to measure return on investment of promotions and activities across US functions.
Key Activities:
• Work collaboratively with the Decision Science, Resource Optimization team to support ongoing projects across products
• Contribute to real-world projects such as developing analytics models, analyzing consumer behavior, and KPIs
• Support digital campaigns, marketing automation, and ROI analysis, gaining hands-on experience with cutting-edge tools and methodologies
• Participate in ongoing project team meetings, including slide preparation for insights updates and business planning activities
• Be exposed to various other functions within the larger US Commercial organizations
• For MBA candidates, the role will emphasize strategic planning, resource optimization, and cross-functional collaboration
Required Qualifications:
• Graduate MS, MBA or PhD candidate (Engineering, Quantitative Finance and related fields), graduating in 2026 or 2027
• Interest in pharmaceutical field and providing insights and analytics to inform strategy decisions
• Knowledge of Python, R, or other programming languages for data analysis.
• Experience working with large datasets and various data sources (Excel, SQL databases etc.).
• Passion for data-driven insights, digital transformation, and business strategy
• Highly curious and motivated and can work independently on one or multiple projects under general direction
• Strong interpersonal skills, ability to establish and foster collaboration and partnership internally and externally
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal), including experience presenting in front of multidisciplinary audiences, and attending team meetings face to face and remotely
• Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office
• Strong understanding of US healthcare system
• A minimum G.P.A. of 3.0 is required
Preferred:
• Experience working in the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry or digital campaigns
• Experience with Copilot & GenAI-related technologies for enhancing data analysis and reporting
• Excitement to work in a fast-paced and action-oriented environment
Location: East Hanover, NJ (Hybrid)
Pay Rate: Masters or PhD intern candidate required
Masters $35.00/hour
PharmD/PhD/MD/JD $40.00/hour
MBA $43.00/hour
based on experience and qualifications (W2 Only)
Contract: 2-month
