Job Purpose:
The line function Analytical Research and Development (ARD) is part of the Global Technical R&D department of Global Drug Development (GDD) and plays an essential role in the characterization and analysis of small molecule Drug Substances and Drug Products from the time they leave the discovery laboratory until they are transferred to Commercial Production.
For our team in ARD Science & Operations CH we are looking for a highly motivated expert in IT systems/tools, with extended expertise in IT system ownership and management, knowledge in data reporting/analysis/insights, and good overall organizational skills. Additional knowledge and experience in continuous improvement/operational excellence, and analytical chemistry/quality control environment is a plus.

Major accountabilities:

  • Contribute to projects, initiatives and implementation of digital tools, lab digitalization, process excellence, continuous improvement, and change management with focus on ARD Science & Operations CH.
  • Hold certain roles in selected digital tools to support user community, content management and processes, as needed.
  • Provide flexible support for ARD analytical/QC labs, as needed.
  • Act as Single Point of Contact (SPoC) for ARD colleagues on identified projects.
  • Ensure GMP compliance for all GMP relevant activities in alignment with Novartis regulations and decisions.
  • Work according to appropriate SOPs, GMP, ALCOA+, Quality Directives, Health and Safety (HSE) regulations and internal Novartis guidelines, as needed.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry or other field, preferred in the field of IT systems/digital tools and analytical chemistry/quality control.
  • Knowledgeable and agile in using different software.
  • GMP/Data Integrity knowledge.
  • Excellent organizational skills, collaboration, and team spirit and customer orientation.
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to perform in a highly dynamic environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other data software, preferably LIMS systems.
  • Good proficiency in English (oral and written), good proficiency in German or French is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and responsibly
  • Fast understanding of tasks

Workload: 100% (40 hours per week)
