Novartis boasts an extensive portfolio of small molecules for innovative oral dosage forms, and we're on the cutting edge of digital transformation. We are seeking a Formulation Expert to spearhead these transformative initiatives. This role presents an exciting opportunity to work at the interface of formulation process development and our data and digital projects.
This position requires experience in both data handling as well as standard pharmaceutical manufacturing operations such as tablet compression, granulation, drying and coating. You will play a pivotal role in refining data processing and handling methodologies while closely working with Formulation Experts and Data Scientists, suggesting, introducing, shaping optimal data handling strategies as well as maintaining best practices and data standards.


Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • You collaborate with Formulation and Manufacturing Experts to develop robust data strategies for manufacturing unit operations.
  • You support digital transformation initiatives in development, showcasing advanced data-centric approaches.
  • You provide input to the development of guidelines for data handling, adherence to standards, and establishment of procedures.
  • You work closely with colleagues at manufacturing sites and liaise with System Owners and Business Process Owners to ensure proper management of data.
  • You collect and summarize user feedback on data applications across various pharmaceutical manufacturing operations to enhance data handling.
  • You compile and visualize experimental data, and contribute to comprehensive development reports.
  • You review development and manufacturing documents and perform thorough data integrity checks.
  • You support and foster a spirit of an inspired, curious, and agile learning organization, including sharing best practices across digitalization projects.

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • Advanced degree (Master or equal) in a relevant scientific field
  • 2 years plus of pharmaceutical industry experience
  • Good knowledge in structuring of data, data wrangling and engineering
  • Experience with manufacturing processes of pharmaceutical oral dosage forms
  • Interdisciplinary thinking and interest in collaboration with other functions
  • Strong communication and good technical writing skills
  • Fluent in English (oral and written)

Workload: 100% (40 hours per week)

Contract: until 31.12.2025
Required start date: 15 August 2025
