Job Purpose:
The global pharmaceutical intelligence & Forensics strategy is fully embedded in the Anti-falsified medicine program, which is destined to combat pharmaceutical crime and create the conditions to bring counterfeiters and illegal traders to justice, recover losses through legal action, improve patient safety, preserve the company’s reputation, and create a tangible return on investment for the business.

The Authentifield Innovation Scientist I is a highly specialized and technical role, reporting functionally and operationally to the Anti-Falsified Medicines, Director PharmINT & Forensics in Anti-Falsified Medicines CoE in Global Security.

The primary responsibility of this role is to assess new analytical chemistry technologies including near-infrared (NIR) spectroscopy. Authentifield Innovation Scientist I will focus primarily on the evaluation of the Labscanner Plus within the Authentifield framework. This role involves designing and running experiments, as well as analyzing data using Python. The Authentifield Innovation Scientist will collaborate closely with PharmINT associates and other stakeholders to develop, build, or continuously review the requirements for both Authentifield and PharmINT. All duties must be performed in strict adherence to high standards for technical excellence, environmental compliance, and health and safety regulations.

Major Activities & Accountabilities:
1. Technology Evaluation and Implementation: Assess the performance and potential the labscanner Plus. Collaborate with the stakeholders to implement the labscanner Plus in Authentifield.
2. Experimental Design: Develop and implement experimental protocols to test and validate the labscanner Plus.
3. Data Analysis: Analyse experimental data using Python to derive meaningful insights and conclusions.
4. Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, quality, and regulatory affairs, to ensure comprehensive evaluation and integration of new technologies.
5. Documentation: Prepare detailed reports and presentations on experimental findings and technology assessments.
6. Innovation: Stay updated with the latest advancements in Analytical chemistry and related fields to drive continuous improvement and innovation

Ideal Background:
Education (minimum/desirable): Ph.D. or master’s degree in chemistry, Physics, Engineering, or a related field.
Languages: Fluent in English

Experience/Professional requirement:
1. Proven experience in analytical chemistry (NIR spectroscopy) and data analysis. Familiarity with Labscanner Plus is a plus.
2. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
3. Proficiency in Python for data analysis. Experience with experimental design and statistical analysis.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Experience with system integration and project management.
6. Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to pharmaceutical supply chains is a plus.
7. Familiarity with falsified medicines detection technologies and methodologies.
8. Understanding of data privacy and security standards.
9. Strong documentation skills, including creating detailed business requirement documents (BRDs) and functional specifications.
