Job Title: IMC - Nurse Manager, Emergency Department
Location: Brooklyn, NY
Job Summary:
The Nurse Manager for the Emergency Department assumes 24-hour responsibility for the overall assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care. This role includes oversight and direction for the emergency department, accountability for planning, directing, leading, and evaluating nursing care within the department, and fostering an environment of collaboration and respect with all other healthcare team members. Weekend and holiday coverage may be required. Additional responsibilities include investigating patient, physician, and staff complaints/concerns and working to resolve them.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of five (5) years of nursing experience in management and/or supervisory roles within the Emergency Department.
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate in English both verbally and in writing.
- Creative problem-solving skills and ideas to improve existing programs.
- Ability to determine appropriate actions in complex situations.
- Proficiency in managing multiple responsibilities and prioritizing tasks.
- Capability to complete work assignments accurately and in a timely manner.
- Professional handling of difficult situations involving patients, physicians, or others.
- Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State.
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, & PALS.
Preferred Qualifications:
- TNCC certification.
Required Education:
- Master’s Degree in Nursing.
