Job Title: Sr. Analyst, System Testing II

Position Notes:

  • Hybrid - Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and as needed at 2401 Faraway Drive: Columbia, SC 29223.
  • Work Schedule: Monday thru Friday, 40 hours/week.
  • 11-months contract (11/24/2025 - 10/30/2026).

Day to Day: 

Excellent project planning, organization, and management skills. Thorough understanding of data processing terminology, operations, and architecture utilized in debugging application/environmental problems. Thorough understanding of systems migration processes. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Skill in testing data creation and manipulation. Ability to understand functional connections between applications. Ability to utilize test requirements, specifications, diagrams, logic functions, etc. Provide service for multiple clients, including onsite service where needed. Make recommendations to clients on how to improve testing activities. Track quality assurance metrics.

The Team: 

  • The position holds a critical role in the application development process; testing new or modified applications to make sure they will work in the client’s operating environment. Fast paced, multi-platformed environment which may require action and response 24X7 to support the technical business needs of the customer.

Duties:

  • Complete supportive administrative and lead activities. Collect and analyze data for software process evaluation and improvements. Integrate them into business processes to address business needs. 
  • 40% Complete administrative and lead activities to support management such as attending sessions with customers, planning and disbursing projects to team members, completing reports, resource planning, preparing documentation and developing processes. 
  • 40% Manage projects to ensure the coordination, documentation, reporting and customer communication requirements are being supported. Mentor and provide guidance to testing staff. 
  • 20% Perform quality checks across various IT functions to ensure quality standards, procedures, and methodologies are being followed. Define and analyze quality assurance metrics such as defects, defect counts, test results, and test status. Make recommendations to clients on how to improve operational workflows. 

Required Skills and Abilities: 

  • Excellent project planning, organization, and management skills. 
  • Strong analysis skills. Thorough understanding of data processing terminology, operations, and architecture utilized in debugging application/environmental problems.

  • Ability to write complex test cases/scripts. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Ability to write complex test cases/scripts. 
  • Ability to document complex problems and assist in their resolution. 
  • Ability to understand functional connections between applications. 
  • Ability to utilize test requirements, specifications, diagrams, logic functions, etc. 

Required Software and Other Tools: Standard office equipment. Preferred Skills and Abilities: Thorough knowledge of JAVA, WebSphere, Windows, and other middleware platforms. Knowledge of DB2, Oracle, IMS, and VSAM. Strong analysis skills. Skill in Whitebox testing, integration testing, static testing, and 508 compliance testing utilizing JAWS software. 

Work Environment: Fast paced, multi-platformed environment which may require action and response 24X7 to support the technical business needs of the customer. 

Required Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology or other job-related degree. or 4 years of job-related work experience or 2 years of job-related experience plus an associate’s degree in computer science, Information Technology or other job-related degree 

Required Experience: 9 years of IT experience to include experience developing test plans and/or test matrices.

Pay Transparency:

  • This is the pay range that Magnit reasonably expects to pay someone for this position is $39.23/hour - $52.31/hour
