Description:
- Candidate will assist with the design, engineering, development, and support of information technology solutions.
- They will support the design, analysis, development, and implementation phase of Linux infrastructure solutions for projects and enterprise efforts.
- Will be expected to engineer and develop solutions to improve, automate systems or reduce costs.
- Will assist in troubleshooting and resolving infrastructure compatibility issues based on system architecture, project requirements, and customer expectations.
- Assists in the diagnosis and correction of application/network problems.
- Works alongside our Operations team to ensure successful deployment of patching, security updates and other activities during maintenance windows.
- Participates in the pilot of new technologies involving server, network, web, and database.
- Assist with the builds of new Red Hat Linux servers / VMs.
- Assists other project, portfolio, application and business teams with requests, migration, change and checkout tasks.
Position will involve the following technologies:

Responsibilities:
- The Infrastructure Engineer Senior Advisor role for Linux will be responsible for Technical Debt reduction in the Linux platform.
- Responsible for engineering solutions, research, design, automation, systems management, patching, deployments, troubleshooting, and performance tuning for all Linux based operating systems.
- Assist in the engineering, deployment and building of Linux systems.
- Responsible to recommend and implement environment changes to maximize system availability.
- Drive and automate patching and deployments using the latest technologies.
- Effectively mesh various infrastructure components, such as servers, storage, networks, etc. to a service or application.
- Manage workflow through project, JIRA, ticket and change queues on a daily basis.
- Document all operational processes and procedures. Mentor teammates and peers.
- Provide timely, creative, and alternative solutions to meet business needs.
- Provide off-hours and on-call support.
- Participate in Disaster Recovery planning and testing exercises.
- Provide regularly and timely status updates to the engineering, operations and other peer teams.
Required Skills:
- Strong diagnostic skills aligned to all technologies listed above.
- Ability to apply principals across technologies.
- Experience with vendor case management.
- Strong understanding of ServiceNow for tickets, changes and CMDB.
- Proficient Linux administration skills in support of RHEL.
- Proven experience with RHEL patching deployment and automation.
- Ability to use the Dynatrace tool to diagnose and isolate issues.
- Thorough working knowledge of VMWare and VMWare suite of products.
- CISCO UCS and VCE vBlock experience is preferred.
- Good understanding of networking and security concepts (switches, routers, firewall, etc)
- Experience supporting Oracle, JBoss, Tomcat, and the IBM WebSphere suite of products is a definite plus.
- Experience with Active Directory connected Linux servers.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to participate in simultaneous projects and prioritize effectively.
- General knowledge of Ansible Automation and writing playbooks for server management.
- Ability to mentor and cross train team members.

- 12+ years of experience performing this similar role.

Education:
Bachelor's degree in a related discipline PREFERRED (not required)
Hourly Pay Rate Range (dependent on location, experience, expectation)
The pay range that Magnit reasonably expects to pay for this position is: $63.00/hour-$83.00/hour
