These are contract roles through Magnit for Consumers Energy in Michigan. There are 2 positions available in each of the following locations:
Jackson, Kalamazoo, Saginaw, Flint, Cadillac, Bay City, Muskegon, and West Kent
Position Summary
The Electric Operations Work Coordinator provides advanced administrative support and cross-functional work coordination within Electric Operations. This role builds upon traditional administrative assistant responsibilities while incorporating higher-level coordination, scheduling, and operational support activities. The position partners closely with Planning, Scheduling, Supervisors, Managers, and Senior Managers to support workflow execution, backlog monitoring, and operational readiness across headquarters and zonal teams.
Key Responsibilities – Administrative & Clerical Support
Perform difficult, repetitive, and detail-oriented clerical and administrative tasks with a high degree of accuracy
Prepare, proofread, and process correspondence, forms, reports, sketches, diagrams, and presentations
Maintain electronic and physical records in accordance with company policy
Perform data entry and validate data quality
Compile and maintain daily production and operational reports leveraging Microsoft Excel, PowerBI, and other web-based reporting systems
Operate standard office equipment and computer systems and software, including all Microsoft Office products
Key Responsibilities – Work Coordination & Operational Support
Partner with Planning and Scheduling to coordinate and schedule electric operations work
Collaborate with Supervisors, Managers, and Senior Managers to monitor headquarters and zonal customer backlog
Track, maintain, and report on operational data and inventories
Read, interpret, and complete basic analysis of PowerBI reports to support operational insights
Assist with planning and logistics for team and cross-functional meetings
Support assessment and training scheduling
Key Responsibilities – Communication & Collaboration
Serve as a point of contact for visitors and internal stakeholders
Develop presentations using Microsoft Office tools
Utilize Microsoft Teams for collaboration, record maintenance, and meeting coordination
Work across functions to ensure alignment and administrative consistency
Required Skills & Competencies
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; Visio and OneNote a plus
Ability to read, interpret, and analyze data using reporting tools such as Microsoft Excel and PowerBI
Strong calendaring and scheduling skills for meetings with multiple stakeholders
Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Results-oriented with strong attention to detail
Experience & Education
4+ years of experience as an Administrative Assistant or related role
1-2 years of technical experience in a specialized or functional discipline preferred
Associate degree or equivalent experience preferred
Work Environment & Travel
Position is onsite five (5) days per week and may require occasional travel to Consumers Energy Electric Operations Headquarters within the assigned zone.
Education:
Associates degree or equivalent experience is preferred
Hourly Pay Rate Range (dependent on location, experience, expectation)
The pay range that Magnit reasonably expects to pay for this position is: $25-30/hr
