This is a contract role through Magnit for Consumers Energy in Jackson, Michigan.
Work Location: Fully onsite 5 days a week in Jackson
Work Schedule: 7:15 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily
Laboratory Services provides a broad range of technical services in the areas of calibration and instrument services, analytical and operating chemistry, nondestructive and material testing, air quality emission testing and major equipment performance testing. The Lab employs 50+ full time highly trained employees who are experts in a wide range of disciplines. Our main Laboratory is 55,000 sq. feet and is located in downtown Jackson; we also have a satellite office in Bay City.
The Lab is accredited by A2LA and our Quality Assurance program meets the requirements of NRC 10CFR50 Appendix B. We provide services to a wide range of internal Consumers customers as well as local and national commercial customers.
Job Overview:
This position supports all of the administrative functions of the NDT/Materials Department at Lab Services. Primary responsibilities include;
- Responsibility for maintaining all personnel training, certification and qualification documentation in an easily retrievable manner
- Responsibility for the control of all NRC related documentation
- Interface with auditors during NUPIC, A2LA, and NRC audits to provide the required documents
- Working with various software systems (SAP, LIMS, MS Office, Adobe) to support business needs
- Customer interface for quoting, invoicing, and reporting
- Perform proofreading, editing and distribution of formal laboratory reports
Manage NDT/Materials calibrated equipment (assignments, due dates, distribution)
The successful candidate will possess:
- A proven history in an administrative support position
- Proficiency with standard MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Proven customer service skills in order to perform as a reliable interface for customer requests or concerns, process invoices, quotes
- Ability to gain proficiency with other administrative processes within Lab Services to provide overlapping support to other groups
- Excellent proofreading skills and attention to detail to provide thorough review of department reports prior to submittal to customers
- Ability to gain proficiency with software systems including SAP and Lab Services Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) software including; PCS, LS Operations, Met Team and Titan
- Significant experience with MS Office Suite, particularly MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- The ability to organize and maintain large volumes of documentation necessary to ensure compliance with quality accreditation and regulatory agencies. This includes extensive scanning, filing, and record retention compliance
- The drive and ability to evaluate current administrative processes to identify inefficiencies and eliminate redundant or obsolete operations
- The ability to multi-task, quickly changing from one priority to the next as needs change
Essential Functions/Physical Demands
Perform the administrative functions described above:
- Control of quality and compliance documents – Scanning, filing, life-cycle management
- Creating, modifying, typing, formatting, proofreading documents in MS Office and other software systems
- Phone support for department and Lab Services
- Customer service functions – Quoting, invoicing, issue resolution
Hourly Pay Rate Range (dependent on location, experience, expectation)
The pay range that Magnit reasonably expects to pay for this position is: $ 21-$26/hr
