Role Description
This role is a contract assignment at Palo Alto Networks. Contractors will not be employed by Palo Alto Networks but through our trusted staffing partners.
This is a contract assignment for a highly specialized Global Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Paid Search. This role demands a unique combination of strategic vision and deep tactical execution. You will be the ultimate owner of our strategy, execution, and performance across all Google Ads channels globally, encompassing both Brand and Demand media objectives.
This is a critical, hands-on role where you will be in the platform daily, directly managing optimizations, and responsible for quickly launching and fixing programs. You will make critical determinations on resource allocation across internal and external teams to maximize global efficiency and performance.

Your Impact
As the Global Paid Search SME, you will be capable of leading and executing simultaneously:
- Full-Funnel Media Ownership: Own and manage all global paid media campaigns across the Google ecosystem, ensuring performance meets objectives for both brand awareness and demand generation.
- Future Platform Readiness: Actively monitor and plan for new advertising opportunities emerging from Large Language Models (LLMs) and generative AI, ensuring our strategy is agile and ready to integrate additional platforms as they become available.
- Strategic & Tactical Execution: Serve as both a strategic leader and a hands-on operator. You must be capable of identifying optimization opportunities, jumping in to fix or launch programs, and operating daily within the platform to manage bidding, budgets, and creative tests.
- Organizational Strategy & Allocation: Make critical determinations for what is executed where across our operational structure (internal team or external agency partners). Optimize resource allocation for maximum efficiency and performance.
- Global Acumen: Ensure performance through sophisticated GEO-targeting and localization, adapting global campaigns to meet the unique demands and intent of diverse markets worldwide.
- The Evolving SERP: You aren’t just buying keywords. You are strategizing how Palo Alto Networks appears in a world of Large Language Model (LLM) responses and zero-click searches.
- Integrated Search Leadership: Act as the internal expert capable of bridging organic (SEO) and paid search strategies. You will collaborate closely with SEO teams to establish a cohesive strategy that successfully navigates the complex and constantly evolving Search Engine Results Page (SERP) landscape.
Your Experience
- Expertise: 7+ years of hands-on experience in B2B Demand Generation and Paid Media, functioning as a technical SME within the Google Search/SEM ecosystem.
- Platform Mastery: Previous experience working at Google in an Ads or media capacity is highly desirable, demonstrating superior platform expertise and technical capability.
- Integrated Search: Deep, demonstrable understanding of the relationship between Paid Search and Organic Search (SEO), with proven ability to develop and lead cohesive search strategies.
- Thought Leadership: Be a recognized expert who is constantly up-to-date on all latest trends in the search world, consuming information about industry changes and advancements to proactively adjust strategy.
- Hands-on Operator: Track record as a highly tactical contributor who is comfortable managing campaigns in-platform on a daily basis.
- Global Acumen: Strong experience managing global campaigns, with expert knowledge of GEO-targeting and local market adaptation.
- Platform Proficiency: Expert-level command of Google Ads (including Search, YouTube and Display Networks). Familiarity with Google Analytics (GA4), and Tableau is a plus.
Education
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience required.
Compensation
The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer,this is the pay range that Magnit (the staffing agency) reasonably expects to pay for this position: $65/hour to $70/hour. Please note that the compensation information in this posting reflects the hourly wage only and does not include benefits. Magnit offers Medical, Dental, Vision and 401K.
