Event Technology Specialist

This role is a contract assignment at Palo Alto Networks. Contractors will not be employed by Palo Alto Networks but through our trusted staffing partners.  

Position Overview

Palo Alto Networks, a global cybersecurity leader, seeks a technically proficient Event Technology Specialist to assist the Events Leads in delivering seamless live events. This role focuses on supporting technical tasks using event management tools to update attendee data, registration flows, and event components from planning to onsite execution. The ideal candidate combines a technical background with event coordination experience to help ensure smooth operations and exceptional attendee experiences at conferences, webinars, product launches, and partner summits.

This role reports to the Global Sr Program Manager, Event Technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in updating event management tools with registration forms, agendas, and attendee communications as directed by the Global Events Lead.
  • Update attendee data in event management tools, including real-time account updates and data uploads, ensuring accuracy for registrations and profiles.
  • Generate reports on attendee metrics and event performance as instructed by the Global Events Lead.
  • Support email campaign deployment within event management tools, following provided branding and functionality guidelines.
  • Assist with technical updates to event websites as directed to enhance user experience.
  • Help troubleshoot issues with registration flows and event components (e.g., ticketing, check-ins, surveys) during events.
  • Provide onsite technical support, including setting up registration kiosks, badge scanners, and basic AV equipment, under vendor coordination.
  • Learn and adapt to new tools quickly to assist with event tasks as assigned.
  • Update documentation for event setups, attendee data processes, and troubleshooting guides as directed.
  • Support post-event feedback collection and report generation as instructed.
  • Work with marketing and IT teams to complete technical tasks assigned by the Global Events Lead.
  • High technological literacy and comfort with AI solutions

Required Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of experience in event coordination or technical support for live events (virtual, hybrid, or in-person).
  • Familiarity with event management tools and basic understanding of attendee data and registration flows.
  • Technical aptitude to update software, process data, and learn new systems quickly.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to follow instructions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and vendors.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally (up to 40%) for onsite event support.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using Swoogo for attendee data tasks and reporting is a plus.
  • Exposure to global events and supporting diverse audiences.
  • Knowledge of automation tools for event workflows.

Education: 

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

Compensation

The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location.  For candidates who receive an offer,this is the pay range that Magnit (the staffing agency) reasonably expects to pay for this position: $45/hour to $50/hour. Please note that the compensation information in this posting reflects the hourly wage only and does not include benefits.  Magnit offers Medical, Dental, Vision and 401K.
