Marcom Packaging team leads and/or participates in development projects for print related raw materials or print technology that supports Packaging graphic design vision. The Marcom Packaging Print Expert leads projects from initiatives to raw material or print technology qualification.
Key Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience as well as expertise in consumer electronic or consumer goods packaging and labeling.
- Deep understanding of printing processes, especially on fiber base materials.
- Ability to think critically and solve printing related issues pertaining to inks, coatings, adhesives, print decoration (foil) and finishing.
- Possess deep knowledge of packaging manufacturing and quality systems.
- Experience applying and qualifying new raw materials to final print applications.
- Demonstrated ability to use statistical and data analysis tools and processes and guide the team to make data driven decisions.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and handle ambiguity with grace.
- Ability to create clear presentations focusing on the message and the audience.
- Comfortable presenting to Senior leadership team on a regular basis.
- Thrive in a creative environment, learn quickly, and can accommodate rapid change.
- Excellent problem solving skills and able to think about problems from different perspectives.
- Good understanding and hands on experience of packaging and label manufacturing process control and quality systems while also being a perpetual learner.
- Understand principles of color management and global industry standards, like ISO 12647, 15339 and GRACoL2013 color methods.
- Invested in the process of creating excellent packaging and work well with internal and external partners to achieve to meet and exceed expectations.
- Proficiency with Mac applications, Adobe Creative Suite, and statistical software
- Ability to lead and manage projects requiring close collaboration with multiple teams both within Marcom as well as other extended groups
- You are available for both domestic and international travel (5 percent of time).
Job Description
- Follow identified approved initiative, create briefs, engage cross-functional teams and
- partner with purchasing to source potential suppliers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional team members, demonstrate ability to generate print
- design of experiment and execute the plan with print suppliers. Generate proof of concept samples for design team approval.
- Collaborate with suppliers to trouble shoot print related workflow issues or press issue using experience in the interaction of all elements of packaging such as paper, inks and coatings.
- Create presentations that clearly explain the results of experiments to gain alignment or approval.
- Stay on top of Packaging Innovation as it relates to print techniques on various substrates.
- Visit International trade show and attend conferences.
- Create and use industry connections to bring about innovation and solutions for Apple Packaging.
Education
Bachelor of Science degree in Packaging and Print, preferred.
