Job Summary
Marcom Technical Device Operations Coordinators work within Marcom Production Operations group and support video production, photography and motion graphics projects. They manage the devices being filmed for marketing and training purposes.
Technical Device Operations Coordinators support our producers and creatives and provide product expertise before, during and in post for productions. They know anything and everything about our Apple devices and larger ecosystem of services. They ensure released and unreleased products remain true to function and act as a liaison between engineering, product marketing, branding, content and production. They also work with Creatives to prototype, load, and screen capture content on devices. Some of this content is used in launch videos, Keynotes, guided tours, digital signage, and advertisements.
Key Qualifications
As a Technical Device Operations Coordinator you will need to be highly organized, self starting, have great time management, and extraordinary communication skills. You will need to thrive working in a collaborative and creative team environment, while also being able to work alone when the need arrises.
- Have excellent computer skills, and specific expertise with MacOS, iOS, iPadOS
- Strong knowledge of MS Office package (including word, excel)
- Strong knowledge of Quip or similar productivity software
- Strong knowledge of Slack and Slack workflow managements or similar productivity software
- Must be able to work with ambiguity in all facets of the job.
- Experience with inventory and device management logistics
- Experience with pre production planning setup, equipment prep and testing
- Experience working within security guidelines and protocols
- Knowledge in Video, Photo or Motion production workflow
- Experience with shipping and transportation logistics
- You strive to ensure a high level of consistent quality across all duties and deliverables
- Must be able to train quickly, follow procedures to the letter and exhibit the task management skills necessary to meet or exceed productivity requirements.
- Follow through with commitments on tight deadlines, which fosters mutual trust with fellow team members and internal customers.
- Have good judgment and can follow security practices and procedures
- Occasionally required to spend long periods of time at a computer screen.
- Ability to work at least 40 hours per week from the main office.
- Overtime hours may be required depending on project, with little or zero notice.
- Must be able to work independently and effectively while on production sets and remote locations
- Ability to work different shifts and schedules to support production shoots (swing and/or graveyard on occasion)
- Must be able to time manage effectively to ensure deadlines, schedules, as well as meetings are not missed
Description
As a member on the Technical Device Management team, you will play a critical role in supporting the team to create marketing and training content for Apple’s released and unreleased products.
- Provide device support to TDMs during the entire production lifecycle
- Provide clarity on usage scenarios, device and app behaviors
- Manage device logistics and shipments of unreleased products around the world
- Provide screen captures, data management, and content support on devices
- Create and load screens on our devices, as needed
- Follow security protocols and make sure our devices and IP are not exposed
- Request and prepare inventory of products prior to a shoot
- Willingness to go above and beyond
- Maintain industry knowledge on current industry solutions available, video production / photography and technology trends.
- Assist the manager and TDMs in scheduling, prioritizing and tracking internal technical assignments and project details
- Assist Lead TDM’s on projects and provide support to TDM project teams
- Ability to liaise and collaborate with managers, TDMs and producers/project managers
- Occasional multiple overnight stays for destination shoots and airline travel.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with all internal and external teams
- On occasion will be asked to stand in for test shoots.

Education & Experience
- Bachelor's or equivalent degree preferred in relevant subject to role
- At least 1 to 3 years working in a production role ideally at an agency, commercial production company, or in-house marketing communications or creative services department.
- Apple expert or Genius experience a plus
Additional Requirements
- Ability to lift 45 pounds, to load and unload equipment needed for production.
- Must have a drivers license and access to reliable transport in the Bay Area to be able to respond to varied and changing production needs.
- May be required to travel domestically, and occasionally internationally, for shoots.
- Must have valid passport with expiration date minimum of two years from hire date
- Must be able to time manage effectively to ensure deadlines, schedules, as well as meetings are not missed
