Description:

 

Duties

  • Main duties will be to conduct routine and non-routine biomarker assays to support in vivo models.  
  • Attention to detail and ability to run repetitive assays consistently is crucial for role. · Initiates and completes routine in vitro studies in an independent and efficient manner, with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrates the ability to interpret outcome of experiments and to propose appropriate follow-up; troubleshoots effectively.   Assists in the design and execution of non-routine experiments in the context of cell based in vitro and biochemical assays; conducts exploratory experiments with minimal supervision.
  • Applies basic scientific principles for study design, data analysis, and interpretation; performs literature searches and extracts relevant information from published protocols when required
  •  Independently operates and is responsible for lab equipment; troubleshoots effectively.
  • Communicates own work effectively orally and in writing; contributes to writing protocols, procedures, and technical reports; provides input for scientific reports.
  • Reports and treats data with a high level of integrity and ethics.  
  • Maintains accurate and up to date electronic lab notebooks.
  • Complies with applicable regulations, performing all work in a safe and compliant manner, maintaining proper records in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures and policies. 
     

Skills

  • Experience in aseptic cell culture techniques and basic molecular biology techniques including nucleic acid extraction, RT-PCR, Western Blot, ELISA is required. Experimental design, execution, and interpretation in these areas will be required.
  • Experience with multiplex protein detection technologies
  • Proven problem-solving ability with aptitude for agile learning style.
  • Ability to contribute to the design, execution, and interpretation of non-routine experiments with minimal supervision and assist to the implementation of experimental approaches that contribute to department goals.
  • Written and verbal communication skills: concise and accurate reporting of technical data and information
  • Proficiency with computers and data analysis software such as Microsoft Excel and GraphPad Prism.
  • Ability and willingness to work effectively in a highly collaborative environment. 
     

Education

  • Master’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree with 3+ years industry experience in related scientific discipline; pharmaceutical, biotechnology or CRO experience is highly desirable; non-PhD applicant required. Skills and Experience

Molecular biology techniques; ELISA, RNA isolation, Gene expression (QPCR, Nanostring), western blot, etc. · Experience with various protein detection platforms (MSD, Luminex, etc.) · Cell cultures experience
