Boehringer Ingelheim is currently seeking a talented and innovative Scientist II to join the Biotherapeutics TCRm discovery department located in Fort Worth, TX. The position offers an exciting opportunity to engage in the discovery and molecular engineering of Biotherapeutics for unmet medical needs. You will be an integral member of the TCRm group, responsible for assisting in the production and purification of stabilized pHLA complexes and the execution of experiments to characterize pHLA complex structure, function, and stability. You will be expected to make contributions to the generation of best-in-class and first-in-class therapeutics to address major unmet medical needs.

Duties & Responsibilities:
● General laboratory maintenance and upkeep
● Execute protocols for production and purification of pHLA complexes
● Contribute to the investigation and characterization of the biochemical and biophysical properties of peptides and proteins.
● Contribute to the design and execution of experiments to characterize pHLA complex structure, function, and stability
● Be familiar with current developments in the field of pHLA protein refolding technologies
● Assist with the incorporation of new technologies or best practices to enhance the generation of pHLA complexes
● Create a culture of excellence through continual process improvement, scientific curiosity, and empowerment
● Prepare clear technical reports, publications, and oral presentations; independently communicate results in the form of reports and or presentations; present responsibly and defend own work at scientific meetings; deliver project updates to senior level management
● Contribute to departmental administration; demonstrate fiscal responsibility with respect to cost of experiments, technology, external collaborations, and travel
● Comply with applicable regulations, perform all work in a safe manner; maintain proper records in accordance with SOPs and policies.
Scientist II Requirements:
● Experience in protein purification, analysis, and characterization
● Proficiency in laboratory techniques such as chromatography, ELISA, electrophoresis, and PCR
● Familiarity with biological databases, software tools and computational approaches for protein analysis is a plus
● Experience in use of Microsoft Office tools
● Excellent written and oral presentation skills
● Ability to work within a collaborative team environment, present and defend results to project and technical teams.
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution with three-pulse (3+) years of experience in related scientific discipline or Master’s Degree from an accredited institution in related scientific discipline or equivalent experience in related field.
● Knowledge of protein chemistry, biochemistry, and/or biophysics
● Knowledge of molecular biology
