Social Media Manager, Institutional and Developer Ecosystems
Coinbase Institutional is the trusted bridge to crypto markets for the world’s largest and most sophisticated institutions. Coinbase Developer Platform is the trusted crypto infrastructure platform powering payments firms, banks, FinTechs, and crypto-native builders through scaled crypto-as-a-service solutions. About the Role Coinbase Institutional and Coinbase Developer Platform are looking for a Social Media Manager to own and evolve our presence across platforms. This role will shape how each brand shows up online, from daily conversations to large-scale ecosystem storytelling. You’ll be responsible for developing social voice and strategy, creating and distributing high-impact content, and engaging directly with business audiences - from sophisticated institutional investors (our Coinbase Institutional handles) to innovative FinTech builders (our Coinbase Developer handles). The ideal candidate understands our audiences, thrives in fast-moving environments, and knows how to translate complex ideas into posts that resonate with crypto-curious audiences. This role sits at the intersection of marketing, growth, and communications. You’ll work closely with teams across Coinbase to highlight how we’re different from our competitors, key product launches, and ensure our B2B voices remain credible, relevant, and deeply embedded in the conversations that are bringing traditional investments and payments organizations onchain.
What you’ll be doing:
● Own social voice and strategy: Develop and execute Coinbase Institutional and Coinbase Developer’s social voice and strategy across platforms including X, LinkedIn, and YouTube. Shape how these brands show up in daily discourse and key industry moments.
● Messaging development and narrative building: Partner with stakeholders across teams to shape our messaging so it lands with a social audience
● Content creation & distribution: Create and publish social-first content that communicates our mission, ecosystem activity, and cultural moments. Translate product launches, client stories, and ecosystem updates into engaging social formats.
● Campaigns & launch moments: Lead social planning for major announcements, campaigns, and events such as product launches, regulatory progress, and Coinbase or industry conferences
● Community engagement: Actively participate in crypto-related conversations, responding to relevant news and trends and engaging with audiences as appropriate.
● Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with Product Marketing, Communications, and Sales teams to align messaging and ensure coordinated content.
● Analytics & optimization: Track social performance, analyze trends and sentiment, and continuously refine strategies to improve reach, engagement, and impact. What we look for in you:
● Experience: 6+ years managing social media or digital content for high-growth technology, finance, crypto, or internet-native brand.
● Strategic ownership: Experience building social content strategy with minimal input, oversight.
● Crypto and audience native: Familiarity with crypto as well as institutional and/or developer audiences (both audiences strongly preferred). Comfortable navigating conversations across crypto Twitter.
● Content instincts: Ability to craft clear, concise, and relevant posts that resonate with technical and non-technical decision-making audiences.
● Creative & experimental: Comfortable testing new formats and content strategies to expand our audience and keep the brand relevant.
● Data-driven: Experience using analytics to evaluate performance, test hypotheses, and inform strategy.
● Operational excellence: Ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously while maintaining high-quality output.
