  • M-F 11-730, Flexible to cover weekends/PTO as needed. 
  • This position supports both kitchen stewarding and dietary assistance. 
  • Approximately 50% of the role is dishwashing and general cleaning; the remaining responsibilities include food prep, deliveries, patient service, and café support.

  • Duties rotate throughout the day and require flexibility, reliability, and a strong work ethic. Manager will review profile, conduct phone screening. In person interviews only.

Job Summary

This position supports both kitchen stewarding and dietary assistance. Approximately 50% of the role is dishwashing and general cleaning; the remaining responsibilities include food prep, deliveries, patient service, and café support. This is not an eight hour dishwashing role. Duties rotate throughout the day and require flexibility, reliability, and a strong work ethic. 

Job Responsibilities:

Kitchen Stewarding & Cleaning 

Dishwashing (majority of the stewarding portion) 

Cleaning equipment, walls, ceilings, floors, and general kitchen areas 

Maintaining a consistently clean, organized, and safe workspace 

Pots and pans cleanup at end of day 

Food Service & Prep 

Putting away deliveries and food orders 

Reorganizing storage areas as needed 

Simple food preparation: weighing food, cookies, sandwiches, peeling potatoes, basic prep tasks 

Assisting the cook during dinner service; supporting dietary aide tasks 

Café & Customer-Facing Duties 

Present in the café; able to assist with line service 

2 PM café closing duties (dishes, cleanup) 

Front facing interactions with customers, patients, and families 

Providing patient service with patience and professionalism, especially with elderly populations 

Patient Meal Support 

Delivering and picking up trays 4x/day 

Assisting patients with menu questions or simple selections 

Responding to lastminute meal changes or dietary needs 

Listening for phone calls and addressing issues promptly 

Daily Flow

Start of shift: Check in with chef for daily tasks 

Throughout day: Dishwashing, sweeping, mopping, trash, food prep, deliveries 

2 PM: Café closing dishes 

3 PM: Mop break 

Remainder of shift: Support cook through dinner; dietary aide pushes dinner at 6 PM; cook leaves; steward handles cleanup and pots/pans 

Expectations & Qualities 

Team player with a positive attitude 

Willing to learn; experience not required if attitude and reliability are strong 

Flexible with scheduling; weekly schedule repeats but PTO coverage is shared across the team 

Able to assist with weekend coverage, opening/closing as needed 

Comfortable in a labor intensive, fast paced kitchen environment 

QUALIFICATION/ LICENSURE :
  • Work Authorization : Green Card, US Citizen
  • Preferred years of experience : No preferred years of experience required
  • Travel Required : 25% or less
  • Shift timings: Mid Days
