About the role:

This role will support the EMEA Compliance function in establishing, maintaining, and enhancing a robust Compliance Records and Information Management (RIM) framework across the region. The position will provide oversight and guidance to ensure that records are created, retained, managed, and disposed of in accordance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and best practice standards. 

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide practical advice on records management and regulatory recordkeeping obligations. 
  • Support development and enhancement of the EMEA Compliance RIM framework. 
  • Advise on retention schedules, legal hold, and disposal processes. 
  • Identify risks relating to recordkeeping practices and recommend mitigation. 
  • Support regulatory requirements such as books and records and audit readiness. 
  • Provide oversight and challenge to business units on RIM practices. 
  • Support regulatory inquiries, audits, and reviews. 
  • Collaborate with Legal, Technology, Risk, and Operations on record systems and controls. 
  • Support data governance and lifecycle initiatives. 
  • Deliver training and awareness programs. 
  • Conduct horizon scanning of regulatory developments. 
  • Prepare MI and reporting for governance forums.

Key Experience:

  • Relevant experience in compliance, legal, or information governance with focus on records management.
  • Experience in the banking/financial services industry. 
  • Experience advising on records retention requirements within a complex, global organization.
  • Knowledge of regulatory records retention and management requirements in accordance with FCA/PRA and EU standards. 
  • Strong understanding of records management principles and regulatory expectations. 
  • Ability to hit the ground running working independently and within a regional/global team. 
  • Ability to deal with a variety of stakeholders, and provide practical, actionable advice on data privacy matters.  
  • University degree or equivalent
  • Relevant professional certifications such as CRM (ICRM), IGP (ARMA), CIP (AIIM), CIPP/E (IAPP), or equivalent information governance, data management, or compliance qualifications are preferred.
