Role Overview
As a Workday Functional Consultant, you will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for global workforce management solutions. You will lead the end-to-end implementation, enhancement, and optimization of Workday Core modules including Time Tracking and Absence Management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Requirements & Solution Design: Lead discovery and requirement-gathering sessions with clients to perform fit-gap analyses and translate business needs into scalable design specification.
- Module Configuration: Configure the Workday tenant for Core HCM, Time Tracking, and Absence Management, including the setup of organizational structures, calculation rules, accrual policies, and time entry templates.
- Business Process & Workflow Engineering: Design, build, and optimize complex Business Process (BP) workflows for leave requests, timesheet submissions, and approvals to enhance system efficiency.
- Security & Compliance: Establish and maintain Workday security models, including Integration System Users (ISU), Security Groups (ISSG), and segment-based security to ensure data privacy and regulatory compliance.
- Technical Implementation & Reporting: Develop Advanced Custom Reports using complex Calculated Fields and utilize Inbound/Outbound EIBs for bulk data migrations and accrual overrides.
- Testing & Quality Assurance: Lead end-to-end testing cycles, including Unit Testing, System Integration Testing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT), while managing defect resolution in tools like Jira.
- Support & Lifecycle Management: Provide Tier 2/3 production support, troubleshoot complex system issues, and manage bi-annual Workday feature releases to ensure continuous system improvement.
Required Qualifications:
- Workday Experience: Minimum of 7+ years of Workday experience, with 3–5 years dedicated specifically to Workday HCM, Time Tracking, and Absence Management.
- Functional Mastery: Hands-on experience on Time Tracking and Absence configurations
- Technical Depth: Proven ability to configure complex time calculations (e.g., overtime, premiums, shifts) and absence accruals (e.g., carryover and proration).
- Reporting & Analytics: Expert proficiency in Advanced Report Writing and creating complex Calculated Fields to support workforce analytics.
- EIB Proficiency: Extensive experience using Inbound and Outbound EIBs for bulk data loads, such as time entries and accrual overrides.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Certifications: Workday HCM Core certification; specialized certifications in Workday Time Tracking or Absence Management are highly preferred.
- Domain Expertise: Familiarity with global leave requirements and payroll integration touchpoints (e.g., PECI).
- Technical Toolkit: Proficiency with advanced report writing, calculated field logic
