About the role:

This is a Finance Business Analyst position supporting a major finance transformation programme focused on automating US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) reporting and enhancing Management Information (MI) and data automation capabilities through Anaplan. The role bridges the gap between finance and technology teams, ensuring data-driven solutions that improve reporting accuracy, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance. You will work across finance data domains to design solutions, document requirements, and support delivery of automated reporting and integrated data flows. The position offers a balanced focus on Anaplan data automation (MI and performance reporting) and SEC reporting automation, replacing manual processes and EUC-based solutions with governed, scalable systems.

Key responsibilities:

  • Gather, document, and manage business requirements across finance reporting, MI data domains, and regulatory reporting initiatives, producing BRDs, functional specifications, and supporting project artefacts.
  • Design and document solutions that automate finance data flows into Anaplan, ensuring completeness of datasets (revenues, expenses, headcount, balance sheet, and forecasts) and supporting cost allocation capabilities.
  • Support automation of SEC reporting processes by reviewing data sources, mapping IFRS data to SEC requirements, and conducting SQL-based data modelling to enable automated reporting solutions.
  • Collaborate with finance stakeholders, developers, and data teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications and viable solution designs.
  • Define and execute testing strategies, including system testing, integration testing, and UAT, ensuring automated processes and reporting outputs meet business and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to data quality, system integration, and process automation, ensuring robust controls and governance frameworks are embedded in solutions.
  • Act as a key liaison between finance and technology teams, facilitating workshops and stakeholder engagement to drive consensus and delivery of transformation objectives.

Essential:

  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst in financial services or highly regulated environments.
  • Strong understanding of finance MI, financial reporting processes, and data flows supporting management and regulatory reporting.
  • Hands-on experience producing BRDs, functional specifications, and test documentation across the project lifecycle.
  • Experience with Anaplan and Oracle ERP systems, particularly in finance data automation or system integration initiatives.
  • SQL proficiency for data analysis and modelling to support reporting and transformation projects.
  • Ability to map complex data flows and processes, translating business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience engaging finance and technology teams at all levels.

Desirable:

  • Experience with SEC reporting or regulatory reporting processes within financial services.
  • Knowledge of Business Objects and Snowflake for data analytics and reporting (advantageous but not essential).
  • Experience supporting finance transformation programmes, data automation initiatives, or enterprise system integrations.
  • Familiarity with Power BI or similar enterprise reporting tools.
  • Understanding of financial accounting concepts, including MI reporting, cost allocation, and financial statement structures.
  • Experience in regulated environments with a strong appreciation of compliance and governance requirements.
