Description:

PLEASE NOTE: This is a temporary contractor assignment managed by Magnit Millions of people across the world come to Pinterest to find new ideas every day. It’s where they get inspiration, dream about new possibilities and plan for what matters most. Our mission is to help those people find their inspiration and create a life they love. In this role, you'll work on projects that support this mission and help move Pinterest forward.

At Pinterest, AI isn't just a feature, it's a powerful partner that augments our creativity and amplifies our impact, and we’re looking for candidates who are excited to be a part of that. To get a complete picture of your experience and abilities, we’ll explore your foundational skills and how you collaborate with AI.

We’re looking for a passionate product designer to help define how people interact with Pinterest across Growth and activation experiences. As a Senior Product Designer (Contractor) on our Growth team, you’ll drive high-impact projects that help new and less experienced users onboard, become engaged, stay informed, and build lasting connections and use cases with our product. This role requires a strong ability to proactively define and execute end-to-end user journeys with exceptional attention to detail, a passion for education and experimentation, and a deep commitment to high visual craft.

What you’ll do

  • Lead design projects across key growth surfaces that drive ongoing engagement
  • Translate ambiguous product problems into clear, detailed design requirements, flows, and interaction patterns
  • Work closely with PMs, engineers, researchers, and data scientists to identify growth opportunities and design experiments to drive key metrics
  • Design intuitive, scalable onboarding flows, feature introductions, and notifications rooted in user needs
  • Create end-to-end user journeys, high-fidelity visuals, and polished prototypes—ensuring every touchpoint is cohesive, pixel-precise, and brand-aligned
  • Use qualitative and quantitative insights to refine the details of your work, from copy and visual hierarchy to micro-interactions and pacing
  • Present your work clearly, documenting decisions and tradeoffs, and advocate for user-centered, growth-driven solutions across the org

What we’re looking for

  • 5+ years’ experience in product design, with a strong track record designing for onboarding, user education, notifications, and/or social engagement in B2C or consumer product environments (growth team experience is a plus)
  • Demonstrated strength in detail-oriented execution—portfolio shows robust end-to-end flows, thoughtful handling of edge cases, and production-ready specs for mobile and web
  • Excellent visual craft—portfolio shows crisp UI, clear hierarchy, accessible design, and thoughtful use of animation and micro-interactions
  • Familiarity with user education models and principles, especially those that help users find value fast
  • Passion for learning via data (user research, experimentation, A/B tests) and iterating quickly, while maintaining a high quality bar
  • Self-starter attitude with the ability to drive projects independently in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment
  • Mastery of Figma, strong prototyping skills, and experience creating clear, detailed handoff documentation for engineering
