PLEASE NOTE: This is a temporary contractor assignment managed by Magnit.
Millions of people across the world come to Pinterest to find inspiration and new parts of themselves every day. To accomplish our mission of helping people create a life they love, we need to keep building the best-in-class Design team. And this is where you come in.
We are seeking a part-time Design Communications Program Manager to shape both our external design presence and internal knowledge ecosystem. You'll own content strategy for the Design blog (pinterest.design) and social channels, while also stewarding internal documentation — ensuring the Design team's knowledge is organized, connected, and clearly communicated. This role works across internal and external audiences to amplify the excellent work happening right now at Pinterest.
This is a part time role, expected to be up-to 20 hours per week. Role is U.S.-based, remote. We do not offer Visa sponsorship for this role.
What you’ll do:
- Act as Editor of the Design Blog, sourcing strategically relevant content (including AI and design topics), advising contributors, reviewing, editing, and publishing with an eye for what's timely but evergreen.
- Manage Pinterest Design social media communities, developing and implementing posts across platforms with compelling ideas, visuals, and creative strategies to grow our audience.
- Own the editorial calendar across the blog and social platforms, keeping content organized and on-strategy.
- Support contributors end-to-end by vetting pitches, providing editorial feedback, onboarding new bloggers, and maintaining training documentation and best practices.
- Contribute original content to the blog as needed.
- Manage and maintain internal Design team documentation, including auditing, organizing, and polishing docs to ensure they are accurate, clear, and easy to navigate.
- Partner with the Design team to ensure internal communications and onboarding programs are as clear and impactful as possible
- Establish and maintain a knowledge management framework for the Design team, including naming conventions, doc ownership, and archiving practices.
- Actively experiment with and champion AI tools to make the communication programs more efficient and scalable
What we’re looking for:
- 3-5 years in blog and/or social media management. +5 years of overall working experience in communications or related fields.
- Knowledge in planning and creating content and design best practices for blogs, social media and writing for the web.
- Experience with knowledge management, documentation systems, or internal communications (e.g., Confluence, Notion, Google Drive ecosystems).
- Demonstrated ability to audit, organize, and synthesize large bodies of documentation — identifying gaps, redundancies, and opportunities for clarity.
- Comfortable operating in both external-facing and internal-facing communications contexts, adapting tone and format for each audience.
- Familiarity with AI writing and productivity tools and a curiosity for how they can be applied to content workflows to increase scale and quality.
- Excellent organizational skills, able to manage and prioritize workload. Ability to work remotely and across multiple geographies/time zones.
- A can-do attitude – a willingness to face challenges and innovate. Be a lifelong learner.
- Value collaboration and working within a team of diverse role types, tenure and levels.
- Native / highly proficient English speaker and writer with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Benefits Offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K
