Description:

PLEASE NOTE: This is a temporary contractor assignment managed by Magnit.

Millions of people across the world come to Pinterest to find inspiration and new parts of themselves every day. To accomplish our mission of helping people create a life they love, we need to keep building the best-in-class Design team. And this is where you come in.

We are seeking a hands-on AI Prototyping Educator to join Pinterest's UX Engineering (UXE) team on a contract basis. In this role, you'll be embedded within our Design organization to help designers at all levels build real fluency with AI prototyping tools and techniques through hands-on teaching, close mentorship, and practical, real-world application. You're someone who can go deep technically but loves making that depth accessible, turning complex concepts into "aha" moments for the people around you. You'll ramp up quickly on our internal systems and workflows, and become a trusted resource the Design team turns to when they want to move faster, experiment smarter, and build better with AI.

Day to Day:

  • Lead hands-on workshops, training sessions, and one-on-one mentoring to help product designers, content designers, and product researchers across the Design team build confidence and fluency with AI prototyping tools and workflows.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear, approachable guidance for non-technical design audiences, meeting people where they are and growing their skills from there.
  • Develop and maintain training materials, documentation, and best practices that make AI prototyping knowledge durable, accessible, and easy to build on.
  • Quickly ramp up on Pinterest's internal tools, systems, and processes to ensure all teaching is grounded in real, relevant context.
  • Partner closely with Design team members to identify skill gaps and learning opportunities, shaping a curriculum that evolves alongside the team's needs.
  • Serve as a go-to technical resource for the design org fielding questions, troubleshooting roadblocks, and helping designers move faster and more confidently.
  • Actively experiment with emerging AI tools and prototyping approaches, bringing fresh ideas and techniques back to the team

Skills:

  • 5+ years experience teaching, coaching, or enabling others in technical or semi-technical workflows
  • Ability to explain complex concepts simply to mixed technical audiences.
  • Strong technical depth in AI tools, prototyping workflows, and design-adjacent coding (e.g., UI Development React.js, Native iOS UI development, Android SDK and Compose); comfort working across both design and engineering contexts.
  • Ability to ramp up quickly on new tools, systems, and processes in order to hit the ground running.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; able to adapt explanations for a wide range of experience levels.
  • Familiarity with UX design principles and workflows, with an understanding of how designers think and where AI can meaningfully accelerate their work.
  • A collaborative approach where you're energized by helping others grow, not just doing the work yourself.
  • Highly organized and self-directed, with the ability to manage your own workload and prioritize across multiple team needs.
