Millions of people around the world come to Pinterest to find creative ideas, dream about new possibilities and plan for memories that will last a lifetime. We’re on a mission to bring everyone the inspiration to create a life they love, and that starts with the people behind the product.
As a Motion Designer within Pinterest’s Paid Performance Marketing team, you’ll play an integral role in shaping how Pinterest shows up across the social and digital advertising landscape through video and motion. You’ll concept, storyboard, and execute a broad range of motion-first briefs from our world-class Marketing team—using animation, editing, and visual storytelling to turn insights into high-performing creative.
What you’ll do:
- Evolve and elevate Pinterest’s performance motion across social and digital touchpoints (Meta, TikTok, Snap, YouTube, and beyond).
- Create high-impact, globally recognized motion assets that drive clear business outcomes (installs, sign-ups, re-engagement) while staying true to the Pinterest brand.
- Translate static concepts into motion systems: storyboards, animatics, and template libraries that scale across regions, channels, and formats.
- Iterate quickly and communicate ideas across various levels of fidelity—concept frames, animatics, rough cuts—with the ability to receive and give feedback constructively.
- Collaborate with designers, copywriters, producers, and growth partners to develop ideas from brief to final delivery, ensuring creative is on-brand, on-message, and optimized for performance.
- Use performance data, creative insights, and channel best practices to continually refine motion approaches, timing, and narrative structure.
- Explore and responsibly integrate AI and emerging tools to speed up exploration, pre-viz, and variation while keeping a high bar for craft.
What we’re looking for:
- 3+ years of experience creating motion/video for performance marketing, digital advertising, or social content.
- A portfolio that showcases outstanding motion work across social and digital channels—demonstrating strong storytelling, pacing, and a clear understanding of platform constraints.
- Exceptional attention to detail across layout, typography, color, and movement in motion.
- Experience designing and animating for both product-focused and brand-building campaigns.
- Comfort working quickly and efficiently across multiple projects at once, with a bias toward testing and learning.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills; you can clearly articulate your motion decisions to creative and non-creative stakeholders.
- Mastery of motion tools (After Effects and at least one editing tool); familiarity with Figma and Adobe Creative Suite for partnering with designers is a plus.
- Bonus: experience with AI-adjacent motion tools (e.g., Runway, generative video, or similar) and an interest in using them thoughtfully to unlock new creative possibilities.
Benefits Offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K
